WAOSA’s Rich History – 30 Years Strong
Introduction by Anette Kerkovius
November 2024
From 1994 to approximately 2002, the archive was a collection of hard copies in folders, kept in storage boxes. With the development of technology, information was stored with different people on their personal computers. It became impossible to keep accurate records or compile an archive of all that had taken place.
Looking back on how much time and dedication was invested in WAOSA over the 30 years, and after some discussion with the present WAOSA executive group, I offered to document the history, and create an archive for WAOSA. I invited my friend Helen Wilson, a dedicated Orff practitioner and foundation member of WAOSA, to collaborate with me on this project. It has been a pleasure working together. Helen has an amazing memory for detail and we spent numerous hours reflecting and compiling this archive. The WAOSA committee can add to this every year.
