Nidja Noongar Boodja Koort – Walking Together, Acknowledging Country

Congratulations to one of our WAOSA committee members, Jane Nicholas, for being part of this amazing project for NAIDOC week.

This year’s NAIDOC theme for celebration is…“Always was, always will be.”

Jane was involved with the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse in helping to create this incredible collaboration and celebration of First Nations People. This project, “Nidja Noongar Boodja Koort – Walking Together, Acknowledging Country” is a beautiful song written and shared by Aunty Honey Webb.

It features students from 7 schools in 3 states of Australia.

We would like to acknowledge and thank Aunty Honey Webb for sharing her culture and music with us.

Jane we would also like to thank you for always going above and beyond to engage your students and school community in indigenous musical experiences and culture. Thank you, Jane, for sharing your knowledge and love for indigenous music. 🖤💛❤️ And well done to Willandra PS. 🎶🎶

Happy NAIDOC Week to our whole Orff community!
