Travel and Transport

Venue:

Wesley College
40 Coode Street
South Perth WA 6151

Wesley College is just over 11km from the airport. Click here for directions.

Wesley College is an Independent Boys school in South Perth WA 6151. It has three schools within its campus being the Junior School, Middle School and Senior School. Its beautiful setting, almost on the banks of the Swan and its excellent facilities makes it a perfect spot for our Conference. South Perth is a beautiful suburb located on and near the Swan river just over the river from the city of Perth. There is a plentiful supply of lovely shops and all of the cafes, markets and other facilities that you will need and enjoy for your week at the conference.

Getting to Wesley College

The college is located at 40 Coode Street, South Perth WA 6151 It is approximately 12 kilometers from the Domestic Airport and twenty kilometers from the International Airport.

The Perth Airport Connect website will give you information about the Shuttle service from the domestic or international airports. This would take you to the city and then you would need to get either a taxi or a bus to South Perth. A ferry would take you over the river to Mends St. This is still a fair way from the college.

Taxis

A taxi from the Domestic Aiport Terminal would be between $35 and $40. Add another $5 for the International Airport. If you want to check the fares before coming to Perth the website for Swan Taxis is useful.

For convenience, using a taxi is probably best. They are a little more expensive on the weekends as you will see on the website. Using public transport and a shuttle is possible but fairly long-winded.

Public Transport

During the conference you can use buses, ferries or trains to get around Perth. The Transperth website will give you the necessary information.

Buses leave from Angelo St which is very near Wesley College. Refer to the Google maps. There is a free bus that runs within the city of Perth itself.

This is an excellent site which gives you all the information you may require and answers questions about how to get from one place to another with different choices.

Rental Cars

All the well-known Car rentals are available from the airport. Click here to go to a website that compares prices of rental cars.

Renting a car is a possibility in Perth. Traffic is not as congested as in the larger cities. However, if you are driving in the rush hour(s) you will experience congestion especially on the freeways.

There will be some parking in the school grounds but if you are staying elsewhere you will have to investigate the possibility of parking there. Quest on Arlington provides free parking if you decide to stay there.

Walking

If you stay in the college or in the South Perth area you will be able to walk to most places you need.

There will be additional information in the handbook and on the website about important facilities near the college.

Stayz.com.au

Stayz.com.au is a website with individual apartments or houses. These are usually reasonable and if participants would like to go together and book these places it is another suggestion for accommodation.

Other

Finally, there are many other apartment buildings and accommodation in the South Perth area. Also if you are going to rent a car you could go further afield. Any suburbs as far as Fremantle would be reasonably accessible to the conference. You would be driving up to twenty minutes if you decide to stay further away. Staying in the city would also be a possibility and then you would have to get to Wesley by ferry and bus. This wouldn't be a long journey.
